Sri Lanka expects approximately Rs.6.7 billion in Asian Development Bank capital funding for provincial health-development activities in 2027, under a programme covering all nine provinces.
Around Rs.750 million per province is envisaged.
Provincial authorities are required to prepare their 2027 annual development plans and submit them to the Finance Commission by mid-November, ahead of implementation from January 2027.
The financing forms part of a wider results-based health-sector programme.
Under the mechanism, funding is released in stages after independent verification that specified health targets or Disbursement-Linked Indicators (DLIs) have been achieved.
The wider programme has reported ADB approval of a US$100 million loan and US$6.9 million grant.
Funding status
The Rs.6.7 billion is expected capital funding for 2027. It has not already been distributed, transferred to every province or spent.
