**Navy Seizes More Than 810 kg of Kendu Leaves Off Negombo; Two Suspects Apprehended**

The Sri Lanka Navy says it seized more than 810 kilograms of Kendu leaves during a search operation off Negombo and apprehended two suspects.

The operation was conducted on September 18 by personnel attached to SLNS Kelani of the Western Naval Command.

Naval personnel intercepted and searched a suspicious dinghy operating in the waters off Negombo.

The Navy says 21 sacks containing more than 810 kilograms of Kendu leaves were found aboard the vessel.

Two suspects, aged 41 and 44, were apprehended. Both were identified as residents of Negombo.

The suspects, dinghy and seized consignment were handed over to the Customs Preventive Office at Katunayake for further legal action.

The seizure and apprehension are confirmed by the Navy, but any criminal or customs liability remains subject to the subsequent legal process.
