Senior Superintendent of Police Roshan Amarasinghe has been appointed Acting Director of Sri Lanka's Criminal Investigation Department.
News 1st reported that the appointment was made on a special-duty basis.
Amarasinghe has been serving as Director of the Terrorism Investigation Division.
Other Police Media Division-based reporting described him as the new CID Director and said the appointment followed the promotion of former CID Director Shani Abeysekara to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
Police-linked reporting further states that Abeysekara will continue to oversee the CID at DIG level.
