Three Thai women have been arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport following two operations by the Police Narcotics Bureau involving a combined 7.686 kilograms of suspected narcotics.
Police said a 38-year-old Thai woman arriving from Bangkok was arrested with:
- 3.220 kg of suspected Kush, and
- 1.852 kg of suspected hashish.
In a separate operation, two other Thai women who had arrived from Bangkok were arrested.
Police said one of them was carrying:
- 1.994 kg of suspected Kush, and
- 620 g of suspected hashish.
The third woman was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting the alleged offence.
The combined quantity involved in the two operations is 7.686 kg.
The Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations.
