The Western Province accounts for 52.62% of reported cases, with Gampaha recording 20,917 cases and Colombo 19,435.

The 34 high-risk MOH areas should not be confused with the larger number of MOH divisions previously covered by special mosquito-control interventions. One figure describes areas currently classified as high risk; the other described areas covered by an intervention programme.
