Sri Lanka's Department of Meteorology says heavy falls above 100 mm are likely at some places in the North-Central, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and North-Western provinces on September 14.
The forecast was issued at 2.00 p.m. on September 13 for September 14, 2026 and directly continues the September 13 weather pattern.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. Showers are also forecast in Western Province and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
Forecast potential
Above 100 mm is a forecast for some places, not a recorded total or a claim about every location.
Lightning precautions
The Department advises precautions against temporary localised strong winds and lightning. The heavy-rain province list is not presented as the coverage of a separate severe-lightning advisory.
