SriLankan Airlines has appointed Vipul Misra as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective 9 September 2026.
The national carrier announced that Misra brings more than two decades of experience in aircraft engineering and airline management.
His previous aviation experience includes work with airlines such as:
- Air India;
- Vistara;
- IndiGo;
- SpiceJet;
- Kingfisher Airlines; and
- Air Deccan.
SriLankan Airlines says his experience across full-service, legacy and low-cost airline environments is expected to provide technical and operational direction during the interim period.
Acting appointment
Misra has been appointed Acting CEO.
The announcement is an interim appointment.
The airline says the appointment comes as SriLankan Airlines continues efforts to improve operational performance and long-term sustainability.
