2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination Concludes After Nearly Four-Week Sitting

Sri Lanka's 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination reaches the end of its scheduled examination period on September 5, after beginning on August 10.

The examination was conducted through 2,532 examination centres across the country.

The Department of Examinations had scheduled the examination from August 10 to September 5.

Special examination regulations remained in force during the examination period, including restrictions relating to tuition classes, seminars, model-paper distribution and other activities covered by public-examination rules.

Candidates were also required to comply with examination-hall regulations relating to identification, electronic devices and other prohibited materials.

The conclusion of the scheduled examination period marks the end of nearly four weeks of Advanced Level examination sittings.

However, no new official timetable for marking, release of results or university admissions should be inferred from the end of the examination itself.

Any subsequent official announcement concerning marking or results should be reported separately.
