He hit 16 fours and five sixes during his 126 and shared a 150-run third-wicket partnership with England captain Harry Brook.
Brook scored 77 from 66 balls, while Jordan Cox contributed 76 from 52 balls.

Sri Lanka's chase never developed the momentum required to threaten England's total.

England's victory followed an 89-run win in the opening ODI and Sri Lanka's 16-run victory in the second match, which had left the series level at 1–1 before the decider.
