New Water Interruption Announced for Parts of Colombo and Battaramulla Until 11.30 PM Today

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has announced a new water-supply interruption affecting parts of Colombo and Battaramulla, with disruption expected to continue until 11.30 PM on September 5, 2026.

According to the Board, the interruption is required to facilitate maintenance work on the Ambatale-Dehiwala water transmission pipeline near Diyatha Uyana in Battaramulla.

The Board has asked affected residents to make the necessary arrangements while the maintenance work is carried out.

Members of the public requiring further information can contact the NWSDB's 1939 hotline, which operates 24 hours a day.

This is a separate interruption from the previously reported 24-hour water cut affecting Colombo and surrounding areas on September 3 and 4.

Readers should therefore use the latest Board notice when determining whether their area is affected.
